NAIL CARE :: Drink To Your Health and Grow Healthy Nails

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! How's your week starting off? Steady, slow, hectic? Whichever category you fall in to, be sure to make time for your self to regroup and recharge, even if it's only for 15 minutes! Lately, I've been obsessed with smoothies (although it's cold as heck outside) and I've desired to drink smoothies with actual health benefits, just not smoothies loaded with sugar, more sugar and 2 spinach leaves. As my collection of recipes increased and I researched the ingredients, I was shocked to find how certain ingredients aid in nail health. Below are 2 tasty smoothie ideas and how ingredients aid in nail health. So, drink to your health (responsibly, of course)! 


Green Beauty Smoothie:
Spinach (1 cup)
*Minerals in spinach help promote strong nail growth
Cucumber (1/4 cup, cut into tiny pieces)
Pineapple (1/2 cup)
Frozen Banana (1/2 banana)
*Bananas have minerals that promote strong nail growth
Apple Juice or (Light) Coconut Milk (1/2 cup)
Stevia or honey for sweetness


Coral Delight Smoothie:
Frozen Banana (1/2 cup)
*Bananas have minerals that promote strong nail growth
Frozen Mangoes (1/2 cup)
Almond Milk (1/2 cup)
*Almonds contain Biotin which promote nail thickness and hardness
Vanilla Protein (1- 2 tablespoons)
*Overall health of the nail as nails are made of protein

To create a smoothie that will help your nails grow, packing in the protien, minerals such as zinc, and vitamins such as Vitamin C and D is key!  Maybe add in some more veggies if you're adventurous!
